Ernestine Engler, fondly known as Ernie, passed away on January 2, 2018 at the age of 97. She is survived by 5 children, 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren. Ernie has been a resident of Little Neck for over 75 years. She was a parishioner of St. Anastasia Church, former member and past President of the St. Anastasia Leisure Club, member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was the Queens County Woman of the Year. She worked on the committee for the Little Neck/Douglaston Memorial Day Parade and proudly marched for 50 years. Ernie was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother,Great Great Grandmother and dear friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
