Helen was born in New York City on August 18, 1962 and died on July 19, 2025 of natural causes.

Helen graduated from The Mary Louis Academy, and went on to receive a degree in English Literature from Queens College. She earned professional credentials at New York University Data Processing and Systems Analysis Institute. Her philanthropic nature led her to a career as a database manager for various non-profits in New York City. Helen had a passion for Irish literature and poetry, rock and roll music, The Gourds, her family and close friends, and every stray cat in New York City. She was particularly devoted to her nieces and nephews.

Helen is survived by her sister Marian Mosley, brother Kevin Mosley and beloved nieces and nephew Bridget Marquez, Clare Daughtrey, Grace Mosley, Jack Mosley and Faith Mosley.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Helen Mosley (née Moloney), brother James, and nephew Joseph Marquez.

Funeral arrangements will be at Shaffer Funeral Home, 45-09 Little Neck Parkway, Little Neck, NY on August 17, 2025 between the hours of 3 and 6 PM

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I knew Helen through our mutual fondness and affiliation with the band, The Gourds. Helen expressed to me several times her admiration for the lyrical poetry that was the band’s hallmark. She was a gracious host to my wife and I when we traveled to the NYC, her neck of the woods, and picked us up at the airport and drove us to our West Village B&B. En route, she was a wonderful tour guide. She even allowed me to come see her at work on West 23rd St, and was always full of kindness as well as that “fiery edge.” Goodbye, dear Helen.❤️
