We remember Vitek hale and healthy; always so interested in others, asking with real concern after our welfare... which seems to be a family trait as we can indeed say the same about you both, Dana and Yarek. We always appreciated Vitek's insights about world affairs, grounded in his real-life experiences through the global events of our times. It seems impossible that he will not be there to lend his strong and striking presence to the family gatherings at Ira and Robin’s, where we so fortunate to visit with him many times. May Vitek rest in peace and also be reunited with the beautiful spirit of Yola, whom we also remember in our prayers. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to your family on your loss. It's so sad to see another great person from that generation depart from us. May it just be temporary, and G-d willing, we will all be together again at some point. We hope there is a reuniting with him and Yola. I remember that it was the beginning of the 1970's, and this family from Poland moved in across the street from us on Dekalb Ave. It was a safer and kinder world, even in our Bronx neighborhood - there were people looking out of their windows up and down the block at all hours. The only thing you had to watch out for was falling bunches of coins thrown from 4th, 5th or 6th story windows when the bells of the ice cream truck could be heard come onto our block. This new family was lead by the very nice mother Donna, and this proud, strong, handsome father Alex. I immediately became friends with Yarek, who was put into my class at school. We spent lots of good times in their apartment, and I remember Alex fondly. Those really were the good old days. Alex should rest in peace, and his memory should be a blessing for your family. And Donna should continue to be loved, and live a long and healthy life.

Vitek will always be remembered by our family as a proud, loving man of great integrity and class . A friend to anyone who needed him he was also a consumate professional in his work and a loving husband and father to my beautiful cousin Donna and to his children (Yarek and Yola). Vitek was a best friend to my father, spending countless evenings playing cards and visiting regularly. He and family were a regular fixture at our family gatherings, milestone events and holidays. Everyone loved being with him …. Vitek was a man of great pride and class. An impeccable dresser he always looked and smelled immaculate.
