Barbara (“Nanny”) Ruth Steinberg, a Great Neck resident for 63 years entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, July 1, 2016 at North Shore Hospital in Manhasset. Barbara touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a beloved mother, sister and grandmother. She had been in the restaurant business for many years before being a childcare provider for area families. She is survived by her son Keith Steinberg of Decatur, Ga., daughters Debra Steinberg Gnuse of Denver, Co., Susan Steinberg Smith of Beacon, NY, and Michelle (Shelley) Monsen Greenbaum of Great Neck, NY. She was predeceased by her daughter Leslie Steinberg Strickland of Carmel Valley, Ca. She was a loving and doting grandmother to her 10 grandchildren. A Memorial Service held in her honor to celebrate her life will be on Saturday, August 6th at 10:30 AM in the Christ Methodist Church in Beacon, NY. In loving memory, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
