David Gallina, son of Rosario Gallina and Lucy St. Angelo, born in Brooklyn, NY (Feb. 15, 1926), passed away peacefully in his home in Great Neck, NY, on Sunday morning, October 2, 2022.  He was the cherished father to 3 daughters, Beth-Ann (Gino) Dabbicco, Paula (Vincent) Chiarucci, and Joan Marie (William) Bassett.  Loving “Poppy” to 7 grandchildren: Joseph, Matthew, David, Emma Paige, Julia, Catherine and Emma Mary.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Emma Bazzani Gallina, and by both of his sisters, Elizabeth Loria and Leah Gallina.

David was a deeply devoted, religious, kind and humble man.  He was devoted to God and to his family.  He loved the simple things in life.  His home was always open to friends; there was always a plate available at his table and a seat by his fireplace.

David was an honest & dedicated worker: a metal attachment maker for C&W Sewing Machine Co. in NYC.  He loved his garden, especially his tomato plants and his fig trees. Nothing was more important to David than his family and his close friends.  David’s amazing smile, that he always wore, even until the day he passed, will be cherished forever.  May God Bless David as he is laid to rest.
