Mike helped me and my growing family to find and buy our first home. He was the type of person who would scoop up my 2-year old as I hobbled around pregnant or with a newborn in and out of homes for sale -upstairs and in all types of weather.
He truly wanted us to be happy wherever we ended up and worked tirelessly to make it happen - and to be in a neighborhood near him!
We kept in touch after and he promised hed be over for a glass of wine soon to see our new place. A true gentleman. Authentic and kind and funny.
Mike forever in our hearts!

Mike & Susan

A true gentleman, & mentor. I can't tell you how saddened I am in hearing of his passing. Susan, (I hope I'm correct with the name!) you don't know me, but your brother might remember me. We were both working at Hackensack Ford at the same time. Last time I saw your Dad was roughly 20 years ago at Testa restaurant on Palm Beach. I was so happy to see him.
Dad had helped so many people, including myself. He will truely be missed.

My condolences to y'all & the entire family

WArmest personal regards,

David Saunders

Mike and my father Bob Schmidt served on the USS Vixen together as very qualified Radioman. From the little bit that I can recall hearing about them together, is that they were some act and remained very good friends since those days.

Because of the relationship and because Mike was always associated with FORDS, my father ended up buying his first new car (a 1955 Country Sedan) from Berry Ford and then years later, Mom bought her first car from Mike (a 1962 Ranch Wagon) at Hackensack. So I suppose this is how I became so passionate about Fords, owning today 4 1957 Fords/Thunderbirds and a 2005 Thunderbird.

Upon loosing our father in 1960 and leaving behind Mom, brother Bob 11, myself 9 and Donna 6months, Mike was there for us and probably never knew just how important he was to me and to the family. For several years, we would enjoy and look forward to a Christmas eve visit from Mike and his family, which to this day, are among my favorite childhood memories.

I tried for quite a number of years to get Mike to come out to visit Schmidt's bar....(a basement bar that highlights many nice touches including a picture of the ship's Radio crew, that originally hung in Dad's basement bar) to meet my family, see my Ford collection but more importantly, to be able to thank him for all he did for us. So, instead, I will raise a glass to him tonight at Schmidt's and say that way.

Dear Nappa family,I got to know Mr. Nappa and Michael at Knickerbocker CC and became friends over the years. Everytime I saw Mr. Nappa on the course it gave me hope, he had so much energy and played the game so well at his age. I always said to him, Mr. Nappa I hope I age half as gracefully as you and he would just give me a smile. Mr. Nappa was extremely generous towards me and I will miss him and his smile dearly.

Dear Nappa Family and Friends,

Michael was a beloved customer of The Golden Pear in Southampton for 25+ years. I enjoyed the many conversations with him especially about golf at Shinnecock and the other many courses he played and was the PGA golf tournament event chairman. He was part of the morning coffee club at The Golden Pear and was such a wonderful man with great stories and advice. He will be missed by many.

Our love and condolences to you all,
