Lisa, so sorry for your loss. It is a great loss for the community as well. Though not for a long time, I did work with Mike on the Horseshoe Crab monitoring - an important environmental, community project. And tributes through the DMEA will be a continuation of his involvement with that vital project - a part of his legacy. Sincerely, Vivienne

To Lisa & all of the extended Gannon and Mortimer families, we are thinking of you all at this difficult time. It was a pleasure and honour to have met cousin Mike in 2018 and to have experienced his generosity. May Mike rest in peace. Diarmuid and Dee, Ireland.

And here is Eddie McAteer/Flipper with Wolfie as the Grand Wizard. Again at Saltaire/Gaddis deck. Many fond memories were had with the Douglaston crowd out at Saltaire for many a summer. Wolfie would drive directly from either the Little Neck Inn after last call or from his job at the Fulton Fish Market to catch the 7AM ferry from Bayshore to Saltaire. Sometimes a note pinned to his shirt to let the ferry crew know to deposit him at Saltaire and not Kismet or Fair Harbor! He forgot the fresh fish in his trunk one morning trip from Fulton and it fermented in the summer sun and heat all weekend. The “purple pickle” Oldsmobile never smelled the same after that.

This is a picture of Mike celebrating his birthday at Saltaire at the Gaddis house with a caboose (engineer train theme) of Jack Daniels. The caboose was passed around to all those present for a birthday libation. Cheers Mike! Lincoln
