Real love does not disappear when someone leaves. It learns to breathe in the space and memories they leave behind. Neil will always hold a special place in my heart. His kindness, laughter and spirit is unforgettable. RIP my friend. My deepest condolences to your family and close friends.

This is such sad, sad news. I couldn’t have had better neighbors growing up. I loved the whole Poppe family. I really did. My heart goes out to all of you. I’m so sorry that I found out too late to attend his wake. Just know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

You became a cherished friend since the day we met, when you started TWA loading luggage in a suit & to the many miles & smiles that collected in our journey of comradery & cheer where the memories compiled will be eternal in the hearts & minds of those who shared the treasure of your friendship.
Amen & blessings to you & may you take your place in the flock of Christ Jesus

Neil was such a nice guy! My sister, Tracey Young, worked at TWA with him and I worked in the IAB building for Marriott/Host during the 1980's. I saw him many times at the Row and he came to parties at my parents house in Kew Gardens with his girlfriend at the time, Cindy. They were a striking couple. He was so kind and funny. RIP dear Neil.

I had the pleasure to work with Neil at TWA and also played with him on one of the TWA softball teams. It's been a long time but they say you always remember how someone made you feel. Neil always had something pleasant to say and he was always a calming factor when he was present. Please accept my condolences for your loved one Neil. One of the nicest men I ever met.
