Karen,

As one of my wife Kathy's closest friends from her college days at Oneonta, you are a treasure to me. From attending your wedding and meeting Tom, we saw right away the decent, kind and gentle soul he was. You guys were quite well matched. When we first came to visit you in Little Neck, we arrived late and were hungry. As you and Kathy huddled and wanted to stay put, Tom quietly asked if I cared to visit a nearby restaurant, where he drove me and joined me for a bite to eat. He couldn't have been more accommodating...on another visit, we went to Rockefeller Center, where you could be recorded doing a pretend interview with Conan O'Brien. Tom really egged me on until finally I relented. He really had a wry sense of humor that fit right in my wheelhouse. I truly wish we had spent more time together...One last thing, Tom was also the finest driver I ever saw. All our best and condolences to you and your family.

Tom was a happy and gentle soul. Van Nostrand Court will never be the same without him walking slowly, lost in his thoughts, emanating so much peace and such a joy of being alive. Seeing him passing by always made me feel that everything was all right.

Karen, Devon, Meghan and Thomas, your Canadian cousins are so sorry for your loss. Although we never met, we exchanged Christmas cards each year and I heard the story of my mom meeting Tom's mom Helen in Ireland in the late 1940s when her and her dad visited my mom's farm. Tom seemed like such a lovely man. Gone far too soon. May he rest in peace. Love Siobhan Kukolic and family in Toronto.

We were so sorry to hear of Tom's death, may he Rest In Peace. Our sincere sympathy to Karen, Devon, Meghan and Thomas. We had the pleasure of meeting Tom many times in New York and he was such a gentleman, and so friendly and loved to hear about his Irish Heritage. I also had the pleasure of meeting Tom's mother Helen who was an Air Hostess, when she and her Dad came to visit Ireland around 1948.His Grandfather was born in the same village as me, and his Grandmother a few miles away. It was good that he got over to Ireland to see where his Ancestors came from. He will be sadly missed. Our sincere sympathy to all the family and we will remember you all in our prayers. Mary and Jim Kelleher and family.

I've known Tom Dinegar for over 25 years and found him to be the kindest man I have known. He always showed concern for what I was doing in the Knights of Columbus. Tom also appreciated what I tried to do to promote the American Legion in various local and regional newspapers. Tom left us much to soon and will be greatly missed by family, friends and all who had known him. I myself will truly miss you Tom Dinegar. Tom was dedicated to family, his job and the community.
