What a wonderful tribute to a lovely man. He will be missed. I am so sorry for your loss.
Karen,
As one of my wife Kathy's closest friends from her college days at Oneonta, you are a treasure to me. From attending your wedding and meeting Tom, we saw right away the decent, kind and gentle soul he was. You guys were quite well matched. When we first came to visit you in Little Neck, we arrived late and were hungry. As you and Kathy huddled and wanted to stay put, Tom quietly asked if I cared to visit a nearby restaurant, where he drove me and joined me for a bite to eat. He couldn't have been more accommodating...on another visit, we went to Rockefeller Center, where you could be recorded doing a pretend interview with Conan O'Brien. Tom really egged me on until finally I relented. He really had a wry sense of humor that fit right in my wheelhouse. I truly wish we had spent more time together...One last thing, Tom was also the finest driver I ever saw. All our best and condolences to you and your family.
Thankful to participate remotely at Mass this morning celebrating Tommy's life. Happy to have shared some special memories with him at a small family gathering recently. Aunt Irene (Patrick J. Conlon)

Today's gathering was a moving testament to Tommy's life of devotion to family, friends, and the people in their community whose lives he touched. Tommy was a gentleman whose presence will be missed and fondly remembered. Sending much love to Karen and their three lovely children.

Tom was a happy and gentle soul. Van Nostrand Court will never be the same without him walking slowly, lost in his thoughts, emanating so much peace and such a joy of being alive. Seeing him passing by always made me feel that everything was all right.
Dear Karen and Family,
I worked with you on the Memorial Day Parade a few years ago - and just wanted to send my condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Warmest Regards,
Darlene O'Rourke
A life well lived. May he rest in peace
It was a privilege to know someone of such kindness. All neighbors should be so special.
Karen, Devon, Meghan and Thomas, your Canadian cousins are so sorry for your loss. Although we never met, we exchanged Christmas cards each year and I heard the story of my mom meeting Tom's mom Helen in Ireland in the late 1940s when her and her dad visited my mom's farm. Tom seemed like such a lovely man. Gone far too soon. May he rest in peace. Love Siobhan Kukolic and family in Toronto.
I will always remember Uncle Tom's humor and warmth anytime our families were together growing up - he never failed to make everyone in the room laugh. I know his deep kindness and love will stay with us both in memory and through his wonderful children. I'll miss you, Uncle Tom.

We were so sorry to hear of Tom's death, may he Rest In Peace. Our sincere sympathy to Karen, Devon, Meghan and Thomas. We had the pleasure of meeting Tom many times in New York and he was such a gentleman, and so friendly and loved to hear about his Irish Heritage. I also had the pleasure of meeting Tom's mother Helen who was an Air Hostess, when she and her Dad came to visit Ireland around 1948.His Grandfather was born in the same village as me, and his Grandmother a few miles away. It was good that he got over to Ireland to see where his Ancestors came from. He will be sadly missed. Our sincere sympathy to all the family and we will remember you all in our prayers. Mary and Jim Kelleher and family.
To the Tom Dinegar Family
I was very saddened to hear of Tom's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.
I've known Tom Dinegar for over 25 years and found him to be the kindest man I have known. He always showed concern for what I was doing in the Knights of Columbus. Tom also appreciated what I tried to do to promote the American Legion in various local and regional newspapers. Tom left us much to soon and will be greatly missed by family, friends and all who had known him. I myself will truly miss you Tom Dinegar. Tom was dedicated to family, his job and the community.
I will say Mass for Tom and his family. Due to age and pandemic regretfully I cannot attend the funeral.
The Conlon's in Mayo are thinking of the Dinegar's in New York at this very sad time. Tom was one of life's True Gentleman.
